Antique Nanban Tsuba with rare Lions decoration

Nanban Tsuba are Tsuba that were made by craftsmen in early Edo period. Most of them have a round silhouette and frequently have dense arabesque patterns with dragon decoration that are carved in openwork technique inlaid with silver and gold.

This Tsuba has two lions facing each other, unique for this line of Namban Tsuba.
